Teen dies after suspected drowning in hot tub at B.C. ski resort
canadasvoice:The B.C. Coroner’s Service is investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy after an incident in a hot tub at a popular ski resort.
Just before 4 p.m. on Friday, paramedics were called to the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, around 14 kilometres west of Golden, B.C., after receiving reports of a possible drowning in a hot tub.
Police say a 14-year-old boy from Toronto was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
“At this time the death does not appear to be suspicious,” said Const. Spencer Lainchbury of the Golden-Field RCMP detachment.
Police were notified of the incident just before 5 p.m. and Lainchbury said the B.C. Coroner’s Service is investigating the death with assistance from the RCMP.
In a statement, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort offered their condolences to the boy’s loved ones.
